My client are looking for a BNG Specialist to join their innovative team. As a leader in
biodiversity conservation, they are seeking a passionate and proactive individual to contribute to our
growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects focused on achieving biodiversity net gain.
- Provide expert advice on biodiversity conservation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement biodiversity strategies aligned with regulations and best practices.
- Build relationships with local authorities and conservation organizations.
- Collaborate with other professionals to integrate biodiversity into projects.
- Prepare technical reports for planning submissions and habitat management plans.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in biodiversity conservation and planning policy.
- Mentor and support junior staff in understanding biodiversity planning processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in environmental science, ecology, planning, or a related field.
- Full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on biodiversity.
- Strong understanding of biodiversity legislation and policies.
- Proven experience in managing biodiversity net gain projects and using tools like the
Statutory Metric.
- Familiarity with ecological principles, habitat assessments, and species surveys.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical information to various audiences.
- Experience working with government bodies and local authorities.
- Proficiency in planning software like GIS and ecological modeling tools, along with Microsoft
Office Suite.
